Possible Live Blogging Tomorrow

It's been just over a year since our last live blogging event. While we don't see these events coming back in any real way, we thought we'd alert you to an organic live blogging event tomorrow...

ART Evolved founders Peter and Craig are planning a long distance art jam tomorrow (subjectively speaking as they are covering a variety of international time zones). Whether this amounts to any blog posts or not remains to be seen.

Watch Weapon of Mass Imagination and Bond's Blog for possible updates.

    Live Blogging in February

With so many early submissions arriving for the Therizinosaurs (thanks to all those who've sent them in ALREADY!... this is the first time in ART Evolved history we've had pieces well over a month in advance!) it is time for those of us who haven't quite got there to remedy this situation.

As of such prepare for some...
    LIVE Blogging!

The schedule for this round (so far) is as follows:
    • Sometime in this week both Craig and Peter will be starting what they are hoping to be a most epic (and first ever) duo person Live Blog. They will be starting up at about 8-9am Pacific Coast time.
It is not too late to live blog, or more to the point have your live blogging effort added to the list above! If you are planning on live blogging just let us know where (your site or blog that the updates will be appearing on) and when (with the date and rough time zone). You can either tell us in the comment section of this post or send us an email to artevolved@gmail.com.
    Till then happy live blogging!

We know its a busy month, but...

So here we are the end of 2009, and in the most busy month of the year. Yet there is still some palaeo-art stuff we'd like to humbly ask you to consider doing in the next few weeks...

    Vote for the next gallery

The one we're insisting you all partake in is the poll for March 2010's gallery (located on the right sidebar). This is a fairly big event as it will mark ART Evolved's 1 year anniversary, and will only take a moment of your time.

Now as we recognize for many of our members (and participants) creating a palaeo-art piece for this site every 2 months can be quite demanding, we're trying a different approach to this poll. To start off with you can choose multiple choices from the list, and thus you can really pick subjects you'd like to devote time too.

Additionally as there has been an increasing interest in getting art published in Prehistoric Times we have included some options that are on the magazines up and coming art requests. These have been marked by a (PT) beside the subject. Though we do not wish to see ART Evolved completely dominated by an outside entity, we thought it might be nice to give people the option of creating a piece that could then be possibly published after it appears here. Depending on feedback we'll continue or cease this practise in the future. So please let us know your thoughts on this Prehistoric Times tie in.

    Palaeo-Environment Live Blogging

Tis getting around that point before the gallery that we are wondering if anyone is interested in live blogging there pieces construction, and when. Understandably we wouldn't be surprised if there were few takers this month (I myself [Craig] for example am highly unlikely to be able to dedicate a whole day to it). If you are interested though let us know in the comments below or through an email artevolved@gmail.com. We'll be organizing the formal post in the next week, so the sooner the better.

    Thanks

    Sauropod Live Blogging Schedule

Prepare for a Palaeo-art filled weekend online!

We have a number of artists taking up the live blogging challenge in preparation for the Sauropod gallery, and you should definitely take the chance to check out their progress!

First off Rachael's effort is documented here.

Mo will be trying to get an incredibly ambitious 24 Sauropods done in 12 hours, starting Saturday from about 11am GMT and going until 11pm

David will be starting on Saturday sometime between 1 and 3 pm, but thinks likely 2.

Peter starts his Saturday morning (clicking this link will take you straight to Peter's labelled posts).

Zach plans to start Saturday sometime.

Craig will also be starting Saturday (actually Sunday in New Zealand, but he is a day ahead of most people out there) in the afternoon (due to time zoning).

Nima begins his live blogging efforts on Sunday at 3:00 Pacific Standard time.

Finally Sean plans to join in the live blogging, but isn't not sure exactly when he'll start yet (stay tuned)

As this is our first time trying to organize such an ambitious multi person/multi timezone project it is a little chaotic to collect and report at moment. Please bear with us through this experimental first try, and we're certain the results will be well worth it.

Check back this post and its comments throughout the weekend for updated times and links as they become available. Artists please be sure to let us know as soon as possible through both comments on this post, and an email so that the site administrators can update this post itself.

If you're an artist who'd still like to participate it is not too late. Just send us a comment on this post or an email to artevolved@gmail.com.

Also a note to our participating artists, if you could please create a unique label for this event on your posts for us to link to it would be greatly appreciated!

So please check out all the excitment with our first live blogging event!
