What I've been up to lately: Craig

I thought a cool thing to do is call out to our members and readers to send in some of their recent work. It's been a while since we've seen what everyone has been up to outside of the galleries. So please feel free to send us your latest work, palaeo-art or other, to artevolved@gmail.com (or if you have access to the blog also feel free to do your own post)

I've been managing to hammer out the following since the fall begun.

Stegosaur Inspiration

A gliding Stegosaurus. From the Ogden Standard-Examiner, 1920.  From Brian Switek's Dinosaur Tracking.

With the Stegosaur Gallery coming up soon, we've decided to do a series of posts aimed to help inspire our readers/artists in their stegosaur art!

The above image comes from Brian Switek's Dinosaur Tracking post on The Flying Gliding Stegosaur.  It originally came from the Ogden Standard-Examiner's comic section published in 1920!

While the above critter defies aerodynamics, as well as common sense, it does bring up the question: What the deuce ARE these amazing plates for?

Display and communication?  Thermoregulation?  Defense?  Hat rack?  All of the above?  I look forward to the debate in the comments section below!
